Steven’s Ait Mooring Members – Winter Ferry Service for Boat Inspections
Last Winter we introduced a Winter Ferry service to assist accessing Steven’s Ait under Winter river flow conditions, which as we know can be a challenge. The service was well received so this Winter we will again provide this. The ferry will operate once a month from November to March incl. The intention of this service is to allow boat owners the opportunity to inspect their boats and take any required actions. Please note this will not be our usual Sunday ferry service provision, but a much more limited offer with important conditions as detailed below.
1. The Ferry service will operate on one Sunday of each month November to March .
2. The Ferry will only make one trip leaving the club pier at 10:00am to return leaving the island at 12:00 midday.
3. The Ferry will only operate if the committee and the nominated crew consider it safe to do so . A decision of intent to operate will be circulated on the official channel at 19:00 on the prior Saturday evening .
4. The Ferry service will only run if there is demand. Prospective users will therefore need to notify their intent on the official channel by midday on the Saturday with a simple message of ‘Sunday Ferry Request’
