Sunday, 17th of MayOpening of our new doorsCommodore Simon Price welcomed a large number of members to the opening of our new French doors, before president Trevor Savage told us a bit of history of the old clubhouse, when it burned down and when the new clubhouse was built 30 years ago and opened on June 1 1996.Then the blue and white ribbon across the door’s was officially cut with the same wooden scissors that Dorothy Jackson, founder member, used in 1996 to declare the new doors in the clubhouse officially open . The members then celebrated with fine wine and good food. As always, thank you to whoever organised this celebration, and a special thanks to the members that fitted the new doors and worked on the veranda for everyone to enjoy for many years to come. Summer beach party - July 11 6pm 11pm It’s not long now before our summer party. It will soon be here and we’ve already started tidying the island, you may think that’s a bit early but time certainly flies and we don’t want to get caught out with so much to do just a week or two before it’s here. The island is being swept and there is so much to do, also the benches are being treated. The new doors to the clubhouse overlooking the river has been fitted, ( a lot of hard work, thank you ) . The Swans are not bothered at the moment they have other things to think about. Some of the other wildlife is getting quite excited with the thought of another summer party. Don’t leave it too late to order and pay for your tickets , we need to know the numbers for ordering the food. ... See MoreSee Less

First working party, Sunday the 29th of March 2026A lot of activity on the island , thanks to all the members that turned up to help. As usual most of the work is cleaning and tidying the island before the season starts , there was a lot work carried out on the fencing , boats , and also the clubhouse. Not all the work has been completed which means we will need some more help for the next working party which will be on 11 April. When the clubhouse and the island, with the new improvements completed, will be looking almost as good as new. Thanks once again to all that came and helped. ... See MoreSee Less
